What is OLP

Optical Fiber Line Auto Switch Protection Equipment (OLP) is an automatic monitoring and protection system which is independent of communication and transmission system and completely built on optical cable physical link. It is a transmission device working at the optical layer. It has the characteristics of independent and transparent transmission signals, safety and reliability, and fast fault recovery. It helps users to build an optical communication network with no blocking, high reliability, security and flexibility, and strong resistance to disasters.

OLP Protection Methods

1+1

The 1+1 optical protection card features independent and transparent transmission signals, security and reliability, and fast fault recovery. It helps users build an optical communication network with no blockage, high reliability, security and flexibility, and strong disaster resistance.

1:1

OLP protects the line by 1:1 (selective send, selective receive) protection mode.  Compared with 1+1, the 1:1 protection mode greatly reduces the loss, so this protection mode is also widely used in transmission links.

Application Scenarios of OLP

The OLP optical line protection device is used to automatically switch between active and standby optical paths in optical fiber communication, and monitors the optical signal status of active and standby links in real time. When the optical cable of the primary link fails, the system automatically switches to the standby link for transmission, ensuring the normal operation of the system and improving system stability.
